The Yoga Sports class bridges the gap between the 26 foundational Hot Yoga poses and the practise of the full series of 84 Āsanas (postures) of the East Indian Ghosh Yoga tradition. It’s a fast paced, multi-level Hatha Yoga class that will improve your balance, flexibility, concentration, focus, strength, and stamina. As a beginner it allows you to remain in earlier expressions of a pose, while more experienced students have the opportunity to take their practise further. The class unifies the outward strength of postural Yoga (Āsana) with meditation through focus, consistency, and breath.

PROGRESS SAFELY

To familiarise yourself with the fundamentals, we recommend practicing a few Original Hot Yoga classes before joining the YOGA SPORTS class. 

In general, the class is a perfect add on if you’ve been practicing the Hot Yoga class for some time and now would like to add deeper hip opening and some arm balancing to your practice as well. 

The ADVANCED class covers the full spectrum of the East Indian Ghosh yoga tradition and covers everything, from full backbends, lotus and leg behind head variations, headstand, handstand and its variations to numerous arm and forearm balances. For safety, this class requires experience and body awareness and is therefore not suitable for complete beginners. If you’d like to participate, please approach us at the studio.
